Story

Women through time have not always been treated in society as they are treated today. The reason for this lies way back when women took care of the children while the men were out hunting for food. Men were physically stronger and had more power because of this. In the modern society we are not living our lives under the same circumstances and there is no longer need for the man to be the only recourses of food for the family. Today women also work, gain money and can support the family and the man is taking over more responsibility to take care of the children, although still not enough.

Contemporary women in the western countries are strong, independent, have good confidence and knows about their rights in society but there is still pretty much work to be done in western society today to beat the last tale of chauvinism that rules for example in women’s salaries, top positions in big companies, in politics, in sports, in religion etc. We women should never stop fighting for our rights until we reach the same level as men in society. It might be harder in some countries than others but together we can grow strong and break many of today’s boundaries nationwide and globally.

This is not only a problem for women to solve. Men need to be as interested and participating as women in this cause for any change to take place and we need to start in the highest institutions of society, such as in politics, and from the very first steps of our children at kinder garden. There are already many institutions working against a more equal society and as more and more people get involved we can be sure to see a brighter future.  Each day we come one step further our goal. Tomorrow is a brighter day.
